Exploring the World of Biblical Art may seem an ambitious title for a 4-week series. Yet it is an opportunity for our spring lecturers to highlight some of their favorite artists and biblical works of art. Come see why these artists and pieces have captured their hearts—and possibly yours, as well!

Discover, or rediscover, some of the masters of biblical art and their timeless gifts of inspiration for the soul. The breadth of this series will span centuries, artistic styles, nationalities, themes and more.

Join us at the Hungarian National Gallery for the Spring Lecture Series!

The Bible Illuminates Art

Each class begins with a power point lecture highlighting pieces found in the Hungarian National Gallery, art on loan from the Museum of Fine Arts Budapest, and famous works from other countries. After the lecture we will move into the galleries for a closer look at select paintings and sculptures. The Gallery tour is included in the cost of the lecture.

Everyone is welcome – the lectures are open to all. There is no need to register in advance.

For Guests: HUF 1,800 per lecture

You may purchase a ticket at the lobby cashier of the main building. Be sure to ask the cashier for the “Docent Bible Lecture Ticket”. Please also note that the lecture is in an adjacent building (Building B) and you will need to plan an extra few minutes to ensure being there on time.

The cost of your ticket also allows you to enjoy all the galleries in the permanent collection after our lecture and private tour are completed.

For active Docents and Docents-in-Training: free.
