INTERACTIVE TOURS

 

In this program we appeal to the competitive nature of the children and thus create a unique way for the pupils to deepen their Art Historical knowledge about a topic of your choosing. Through this experience we not only assure the active participation of the children but also guarantee that the Museum visit will be an unforgettable experience for the group!

CREATIVE WORKSHOPS

 

This programme consists of  an interactive guided tour focusing on a theme of your choosing which is then followed up by a creative session in the Education Department's workshop.

ANCIENT GREEK-ROMAN WORKSHOPS

 

This workshop consists of two parts: in the first segment the children partake in an Interactive Guided Tour focusing on four Ancient Greek artifacts from the Museum of Fine Arts Antique Collection. The exploration into the impact of Ancient Greek and Roman culture onto the History of Art will be reflected upon in the collection of the Hungarian National Gallery. The experiences and inspirations gained in the Gallery are then used in the second part of the workshop where the children are going to have the chance to create their own art works in the Museum Education Departments studio space.

 

Duration: 3–3,5 hours Age: 11–14 years

Maximum number of participants: 30 people Participation

Fee: below 15 participants 11.000 Ft/group, above 15 participants 15.000 Ft/group.

CONTESTS AND COMPETITIONS

          Ancient Greek-Roman Collection: Faces and Places ››

 

This year our Competition gives the children the chance to learn more about the Heroes and Wars of the Greek-Persian realm. Through taking place in this Contest the children are able to discover the many facets of these two ancient cultures.

          Ancient Egyptian CollectionIn the Land of Osiris ››

 

According to tradition it was Osiris who taught the Ancient Egyptians about agriculture. Thus it was to this God that they owed ​​the very creation of their civilization. Pursuant to their faith it was through turning into Osiris that one could gain eternal life. Since this contest allows the students to fully immerse themselves in the world of the ancient Egyptians it justly was named after Osiris!

STUDY GROUPS

 

          Art in English 


Art, creating, games and experience! –  All in English. This program consists of two parts. In the exhibition space the children are given different language-related tasks; the solving of which relies upon the observation and the independent discovery of the Art Works surrounding them. The second part of the session allows the children to deepen their learning experience through processing the information obtained in the Gallery space in the act of creating their own works of Art. The creative workshop is centred on the theme of the Art Works seen at the Gallery while also drawing from the language assignment. The creative session also gives the children the opportunity to try out different exciting art techniques.

Level of English required: at least one year


Dates:  Wednesdays (Please note that from June until August there are no study groups held.)

Duration: 1,5 hours, 16:00-17.30 

Age of Children:  6–12 years

          I am going to be a painter! 

           

Dear Tweens! Put down those smart phones, will you?! Why don’t you play around with colours and forms instead? Relish the chance to try out different artistic techniques! Do not worry if it sploshes, splotches or drips...

FAMILY DAY


With the exception of the summer season we offer a special family day every month. In the course of this three hour program parents, grandparents and children are invited to participate in different workshops and guided tours. The topics vary from each occasion so every Family Day is going to introduce you to a new part of the Hungarian National Gallery.

A VERY ARTY BIRTHDAY PARTY


The unique experience of a Birthday Party at the Museum begins with the children discovering the collection through playful interaction during a special guided tour. Following this the group can unleash their creative potential during a creative session in the Education Department's workshop. Last but not least the last half hour is set apart for the Party itself – parents are asked to provide the cake and beverages.

Suggested topics: Colours and Forms, Seasons, The Wishing- Table, Smart Animals, Fairy Creatures, Princesses and Princes
