FOR THE INDIVIDUAL VISITOR

Do not all of us wish to continue learning? Is it not an appealing thought to leave the grey everyday behind and immerse yourself in the World of Art? Why not partake in the relaxing and inspiring escape that only a visit to the magnificent space of the Gallery can offer? It is not just the works of Art themselves that form our great European heritage - so does the deeper understanding and knowledge that heightens our enjoyment in Art. The Museum is for all of us! Let us benefit from this outstanding resource!

The publication "Lets see! How do we guide in a Museum?" offers you a taste of some highlights from the Museum of Fine Arts collection while it summarizes the most important art historical styles and terms (the book is for sale at the Museum shop).

DOCENT PROGRAMME

Volunteer Guide programme in English

The Museum trains our future Docents to become our Institution’s Cultural Missionaries to the outside world. All aspiring Volunteers - regardless of their already existing Art Historical knowledge - take part in an intensive course that prepares them to represent the Hungarian National Gallery values before the public. Through this training a thorough knowledge of the Museum's Collection and a broader understanding of the History of Art is gained. Special attention is also devoted to the development of interpretative and presentation skills. The training is given in English!

The next training program for our future English-language Docents will be launched in fall 2018.
