We offer guided tours in the Permanent Collection as well as the Temporary Exhibitions. However there is also the possibility to arrange specially tailored thematic tours. Far from aiming to heap up information and yoke the participants under a plethora of Art Historical terms and dates we instead focus on building the already existing knowledge of the visitors. We strive to provide a challenging as well as entertaining way to pass on information all the while also highlighting the bigger picture and place the Art Work observed within the broader context of art history.

Duration:  60 minutes

Maximum number of participants:  30 people

Fee:  10 000 HUF / group, 115 persons; 12 500 HUF / group,15-30 persons

A VISIT TO THE PALATINE CRYPT

 

 

Did you know that beneath the exhibition halls of the Hungarian national gallery - within the former Buda Castle chapel - the Palatine Crypt of the Habsburgs can to be found? This extraordinary guided tour is going to grant you entrance to this unique hidden sight. Not only are you going to be able to discover how the Habsburgs were buried but you are also going to find out which Hungarian artists took part in the designing of the elaborate tombs. Anticipate the moment when the Museum Educator lifts the veil on the fascinating History of the Crypt and find out what happened to the Crypt during the two World Wars and afterwards. 

 

Duration: 30 minutes

Maximum number of participants: 15 people

Fee: 5000 HUF / group (foreign language: 8000 Ft / group) and 600 / person entrance fee to the crypt
