Wine Wednesdays 2018

Continuing our traditions, our summer programme will be jazzed up by Wine Wednesdays this year too. For five Wednesdays in a row, visitors are welcome on the terraces and cupola hall of the Hungarian National Gallery from six to ten in the evening to enjoy some wine, learn about a winery, listen to some music and participate in guided tours, all arranged around a theme picked from the world of art. This year’s themes feature various styles from Classicism to Abstract art. A great selection of fine wines will be matched with exciting journeys through art history, including Carrara marble, Frida Kahlo’s Hungarian love, the universal and local characteristics of styles described with oenological terms as well as the problems of manifestos about 20th-century ’isms’ and about the common misconception that anyone can produce abstract pictures.
